Default Need Help

Haven't found a post with this problem, or my search skills need to be improved.

My phone, a Pixel, connects and I am able to make an outgoing call but I get no sound from the speaker. I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone to be able to talk.

Everything else works fine. I get incoming text notifications as well.

Anybody else experience this or similar?

We purchased the original Pixel phones in November 2016 & just a couple weeks ago upgraded to the Pixel 2 XL phones.
I have a 2013 F150 & the wife has a 2016 Fusion, neither of us has had any issues with either phone or either car... Sorry

Check your phone settings. Go to settings, connected devices, bluetooth. Click the gear next to your truck and make sure "phone audio" is checked.

Do you get other voice from the truck? Responses when you use voice control, for instance?

Checked that and it is set correct.
Thank you for the suggestion.

The "Voice" in Navigation works if that is what you are referencing.
Good question though.

I had the same problem and it ended easily. For some reason the phone volume was turned to zero on the truck. I played and played with settings and just happened to turn the volume up.

Well, problem half solved. It's not my truck, it's my phone. Connected my wife's phone and all is good for hers.

Compared her settings to mine and they are all the same as per above instructions.

Any Android wizards on here?

Try playing with the speaker selector on the phone. My Nexus would occasionally fail to make any sound, also. The fix was, during the call, on the phone screen, to switch to Phone and back to Bluetooth. Actually, I think my iphone used to do that before the Nexus. Hasn't happened once with my Moto. Pretty strange.

Although, I do have a different system in a 2013.

When the Bluetooth is connected. Is the volume on the Phone all the way up?

I guarantee it's not the Pixel's fault. At least I hope not.
Cause my HTC 10 is up in one month, then I'm on to the Pixel.
