Default Need help!!!

I have a 2011 f-150 platinum with factory navigation. I HATE the factory navigation. It is nearly impossible to get updates and just all around sucks to add components too.

Here is my problem. The factory A/C controls are in the touch screen. So how do I change out the head unit if I don't have any A/C controls? I didn't want the factory nav but that's what the truck came with.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Good luck getting a new HU, as the dash kit sucks and puts the HU lower...

Weird,

While I have AC controls on my 2011 NAVI, I also have buttons below the NAVI that work the environmental controls. I would lose the vent controls, which I think are only on the NAVI.

Perhaps pulling off the gas cap and rolling in a new truck would solve your problems?

Worse case you have most controls in button form.

Buying a vehicle that has an option you don't want as standard, seems counterproductive. However, I did find this (which may or may not be better). You get to keep all of the sync features so at least most of the factory options will work. I did not see anything specific to the climate but could be there.

Those are both actually really helpful thanks. Not exactly what I was looking for but they are good things to know.

As for buying a car with something I didn't want I get a really good deal on the truck 2 years ago and didn't know the factory navigation was a piece of crap until a few months after I bought it.

I don't really get the whole gas cap reference. My truck already has the cap less fuel tank?

Lol I have been tempted. I usually don't keep cars for more than a few months but this truck have been in the fleet for over 2 years. Out of the almost 40 cars, trucks, and motorcycles this truck have been my favorite. Not sure if it will make it through 2014. There may be a new body mustang in my future. :-)

Its absolutely possible - but you're going to spend 5k doing it.

Get an aftermarket touchscreen, it will have a lot more features, better sound output, and will cost 1/2 as much.

If that

It will do everything the '13 will do and a hell of a lot more for the $.

I'm looking into that but since my 2011 came factory with navigation nobody makes a kit that will switch it out. Ford had the bright idea to put the damn a/c vent controls in the touchscreen. No manual buttons any where. So it's looking like I am stuck with this crappy factory nav unit.

I'll just have to wait for the 2015 f150 I guess lol
