need advice on which engine to buy
hi guys, Im new to this forum. I had purchesed an 03 f150 fx4 in 2003 and then traded it off 1 year ago for a jeep. why I did this i have no idea and now I miss my truck so im getting ready to go buy a new one. after narrowing my options I found the one I want, 2013 f150screw 4x4. the issue Im have is which engine should I get? the ecoboost 3.5 v6 vs 5.0 v8? now I love the power and get up and go from a v8 but after reading all these post on the eco seems like its right there with the v8. I may haul small trailors for lawn mower or something like that but really I just love trucks. when I search on the forum seems like all I find is what gas mileage people are getting. So for somebody who just wants his truck back which engine would you recommend?(I will test drive both first)
Thanks

I went lot shopping this Sunday and what struck me as odd was there were very few Eco's on the lot compared to the 5.0, are they blowing out the door or slow sellers? Also there were very few Scabs and 90% of the F150 were 4X4's.

I bought a 2013 screw with a five litre 2 months ago and love it. My neighbour has a 2012 with the Eco in it and has 105 000 Kms on it. When I was shopping around I asked him if he liked it and his reply was if doing it over again he would get the V8 5.0l. He told me the fuel milage isn't what it is suppose to be. When buying mine, my dealer told me in his opinion with the incentive and price differences he would get the 5.0l. I was ordering mine so it's not like he told me that to move one off his lot. Hope that helps. I have a 6'6"X12" dump trailer that I put 5 cord of hard maple in and it handles it amazingly.

My dealer says the Eco's don't stay on their lot very long, and they sell a whole bunch more Screws than they do Scabs.

I've only drove my dad's 5.0. Something about a V6 in a truck bothers me. The gas mileage isn't all they say it should be either. I talked my dad into his 5.0 mostly with the fact of if he ever decides to throw dual exhaust on it he hates the V6 with dual sound. It's mostly a matter of personal opinion.
