Default Mud flaps

Sorry for the boring thread but I am about to get some rims and tires put on which are going to stick out a little and want to protect the side of my truck the best I can. Mud flaps are usually a good start so has anybody bought a none flashy black flap that hasn't fallen apart first time off roading and for a good price? Mounting to a 2013 fx4 screw.

Cheers.

Gatorbacks. They sell them at the dealership. Heavy duty for sure. I live out in the oil patch in ND and see my fair share of mud and snow. I've had them on since the beginning of the winter and they are great. I replaced weather techs that I put on when the truck was new. They are ok for city driving but that's about it. I went with the standard black no chrome plate of logo. I love them.

Will mud flaps help much with aftermarket wheels that stick out much?

Doing flares to but that gap from the tire to the running board is where it's going to go up the side for sure.

Depending on how much they stick out.. fender flares would probably be better if you are worried about it. I took my fender flares off and now I get all kinds of stuff thrown up onto the truck lol

I hate aftermarket fender flares and wonder how much mud flaps will help protect from rocks and mud with wider wheels

I literally just threw away my stock mud flaps. I would have given them away beings they were collecting dust.

Wink

I went with the Ford Mud guards. I've been happy with them. When it gets to be raining and wet, sometimes the lanes and field at my property in West Virginia would get pretty Mucky in some areas. I wanted something to keep the Muck and Slop from collecting on my running boards. If I didn't nock it of regularly, it could get to accumulate pretty high. At first I was just going to get the front guards. But I decided I also wanted some uniformity, so I had all four put on. They don't keep the side of the truck completely clean, but in bad weather it's gonna get muck on it any way. Just wanted to keep it at bay.
First three pics. shows some build up before I got the Mud Guards. The next pic. shows the truck from behind with the guards on. And the last pic was from this last snow we had here in Jan.. You can see road grime/salt on the side, but no real buildup, especially on the boards. The snow that's on the boards are what I never swiped off.
