There must be something wrong with my driving style...

I used to have a Tacoma and when these MPG threads came up on that forum I was always one of the worst ones... Now here on the F150 forum... same thing. I get about 16.5 all the time... hwy or city... Sure I can get 18 or 19 for a 5 mile stretch but if I drive from here to Florida... which I have several times.... by the time I get there with no resetting of the comupter I will be right back at mid 16s... maybe upper 16s... Same thing for around town. I have used E10, 100% gas, 87 octane and 93 octane... not real difference.

Maybe the Platinum has heaver badges and those auto running boards really drag in the air.

I am completly stock... no level kit... nothing has changed since I drove it off the lot.

not sure yet, only 1/2 through the dealer filled tank but the dash is now showing 17.7 MPG with 301 miles on it at just above 1/2 tank. I have NO doubt MY 5.0L will beat the window sticker. The small 15 mile stretch I actually got to set the cruise at 62mph was showing 22.7mpg. Going back and forth to work a few times was 18.1mpg where my 4.6L 2V mountaineer only pulled 19.5-20 @ 65mph and 16mpg going to work. A well noted 2mpg improvement for something that weighs 1000# more and can legitimately pull 7000# with ease. I've got my Fusion for mileage though, 29-30mpg to work, 38mpg @ 65mph, and 35mpg @ 75mph

I'm on it most of the time going to work. I get about 17(lotta stop and goes) to Blytheville. I fill up at the same gas station though. Idk if that has anything to do with it or not?

2012 scab, 3.7L 21-23 mpg in town, 28-30 mpg on the highway, I drive 60 miles to get to work an 60 miles back home, so that a 120 miles, on a fill up, I can do that trip 6 times without ever filling the tank

My 2012 3.7,4x4, Xcab,3.73 is Averaging 17.1 according to the computer. 18-25 miles a day 85% city / 15% hwy or straight back road with a constant speed. I assumed it get at least 3 mpg more for the Xcab.

I'm kinda disappointed with the mpg compared to the 2011 , XLT , Screw, 3.55, 4x4, 5.0 I had. I would average 15.8-16.2 driving the same route I do every day with the 2012.

I don't really care for the mpg that it is getting in the city. I got 25.2 on a 250-300 mile trip at 67 mph.

Overall it's a good truck. I know if I want to save some gas money, just take the wifes Focus.

2012 Supercab 3.7 V6, 6 1/2 ft box, 3.73 ratio.
It has 900 kms (560 miles) on it. My driving is 75% highway and driving at 60-65MPH and 25% city driving 25-35MPH with some stop and go mixed in.
l just worked out my first full tank of gas and l got 20MPG (U.S. gallon).
I think for a full size truck, thats amazing, and from what l've heard it should gradually get better.
The computer is bang on to what l calculated by hand.
With the 26 gallon tank, and the same driving style, l would have a range of 500 miles. How do you argue with that.
