Right now I have 35x12.5x18 Mastercraft course MXT tires. I drive highway during the week and trail/mudding on the weekends. I'm looking for a meaty tire that can do both without wearing incredibly fast. Having said that, I cannot complain about the mastercrafts. I've put 40,000 miles on these tires pulling large trailers for work and they have held up well. They are a bit pricey to replace so my question is...Is there anything better out there for the price that will suit my needs? Looking for a meaty, off-road tire that will hold up 40,000+ miles without breaking the bank. I'm content purchasing these mastercrafts again if i need to, i just didnt know if there was something bettee out there I'm not aware of
Mastercraft tires are among the best you can get for the money. I don't know of any better MT tires that cost less. Browse online for the lowest prices. I've seen them for around $200 a tire which is pretty good for a large MT these days.
Im running the new Toyo Open country RT's or rough terrains.. real meaty but I cant attest to how long they will last as they are pretty new.. I know several guys running RADAR Renegades R7s that are getting good longevity but are a meaty tire as well and they are super cost effective. I almost went with a set of em from my shop for like 800$ new for 35x12.50 r20
Also look into Cooper STT's. I liked the 37's i ran on a previous truck. Ffrom what i recall, they are one of the lighter tires in their size
X2 on the STT's. Had a set on my old truck, put 50K on them, mostly highway, still had 1/4 tread left when I sold the truck. Will be buying a set for my F150 in the next year or so.
