Locking Fuel Plug for 2009 F150

Ford/Mazda Parts guy
We have sold 40 of them or so at the Dealership I work for and we sell them at retail of $19.99.
If anyone wants one we could sell them at a GB price if the owners of the forum are ok with it.
Like $16 each plus shipping.

I was told by my dealership that there is a block that is like a metal piece with holes in it, further down that blocks them from siphoning. (I guess they were full of it, that sucks)
As for the lock, I know that most of the locks that were available for other vehicles would have like 10 different keys and if you bought, or stole, all 10 (which is what low liefs would do) then you could unlock any gas cap out there. Do you know if this is the same thing with these??

Took NorCal's advice and ordered fuel plug from PartsCheap.com. Can't wait for its arrival as gas prices here in Southern Cal seem to rise rather quickly. Will also help keep my mind at ease since having a 36 gal. tank makes me a bit nervous... a lot of "MONEY" to be had! By the way, does anyone know if the 36 gal. tank is common on the 09's, or is it a dealer request? According to the sticker it was no additional charge. Thanks.

As I recall, it comes standard when you order a certain package combo. It may even be the tow package or other combo of packages.
My dealer near Sacramento, has about a 80/20 mix of the 36 vs. the 26 gal tank. I like the 36 because I can fill up and make a non-stop run down I-5 to L.A. on one tank now.
But, as you say, and as I recently experienced, it makes you more vulnerable ($$$$) when they come after your gas.
There are two little spring loaded **** on each side of the fill hole, just above the metal flap, which releases the flap. I have large fingers and I can use my thumb to depress both and open the metal flapper. The same can be accomplished with many funnels, including the readily available bypass tube supplied with the truck, under the rear seat.
And while yes, any locking cap is defeatable, the locking plug is still a deterrent to someone who just wants quick and easy access to gas and does not want to take the time or attract the attention of going the extra step to use a tool to pop the locking cap/plug.
Again, the partscheap.com outlet is in Chico, CA. I had the plug via UPS the next day after shipping. For San Diego, it will most likely be three days, regular ground shipping.

I really hate to say this but I've read a few stories of thieves drilling thru the gas tanks instead of the siphon method. It might be the easier choice for a thief since siphoning always brings the chance of swallowing a bit of gasoline.
It's crazy that Ford made the capless fuel tank without an anti-siphon feature.

I would love to catch someone siphoning my gas in the middle of the night
The next tube they will be using will be in their throught keeping them alive or their family will be paying for a funeral!
