Default Light sensor for automatic headlights

Can anyone tell me where the sensor is for the automatic headlight function? I leave my switch set to "auto" all the time and was wondering if there is a way to maybe change the sensitivity a bit to get the lights to come on just a bit earlier. I'm so used to leaving it in auto, I'm afraid if I hop outta the truck with the lights "on", I'll forget and have a dead battery later on. It would be nice to have them come on for drizzly foggy days.....Is the senso up on the dash, and is there a way to adjust it?

Yep. I throw a ball cap up there to cover the sensor so I have full time lights.

And with proper selection of the team, you can adjust the sensitivity over the full range.

I believe if your wipers are on in auto the lights will come on. Your headlights may be on but not your dash lights.

X2^

Do this OP...leave in auto, and pull the switch out for the fogs. Turn on the wipers...after 3 seconds your lights will turn on. You will know because the fog light indicator on the switch will be on.

It would be nice to adjust the sensitivity. I was able to do that on a previous vehicle. However,I leave mine in the auto position all the time and it seems the lights are on more times than I know it like on cloudy days.

You guys and your auto wipers. My Grand Cherokee had them, but my FX4 doesn't. I miss them (for the most part).

I wish there was some other way to know if my lights are on. I have DRL, and sometimes the dash lights come on in a tunnel, but not the headlights. It seems that the fog light indicator is the only way, and that's only if you've set your fogs to turn on.
