A little pc of black tape on top is what I did. Works like a charm. Come a bit earlier. Never was quite right before. Dealer told me there is no way for them to adjust the sensor, they have had many complaints since 09.

If my dial is set to auto, my lights are on, it doesn't matter if it's sunny, cloudy, night, or anything. Do I just have a bad sensor?

Sounds like it.
You can buy a new sensor, for around $20, from Tasca Parts, and find out.
I would.

^ I would warranty claim that. Why spend another $20 when they'll fix it for free?

We're purchasing these 30-40k $ trucks and using black electrical tape on our auto sensors... haha!

I too have been frustrated with the major delay in the auto headlight sensor. Instead of using black tape would purchasing a more sensitive sensor possibly change the relay time for the auto-lights?

Oh my I have to thank you for your help on this one...I was having a problem with my wipers that would stay on while driving....and they were off from lever/switch....and noticed my headlights (while in automatic) wouldn't turn off during the day....so I even went to store to go buy the lever switch or whatever its called...and then I was curious to try this "glitch" and it really worked...I appreciate you lots....by the way my vehicle is a 2012 Ford F150...
