Default Leveling Kit Question

So I am thinking about putting a 2" - 2.5" leveling kit on my 09' Screw. Is it worth the extra money to upgrade to better shocks? From what I have read off of here, some people are upgrading to Bilsteins 5100 or so. Just not sure if it is worth the money if I am only persuing a nice looking truck compared to a nice performing truck?

If you buy the 5100's you will not need a level kit.

If your '09 has 40k miles or more I would go with the shock's. Two bird's with one stone!

Forgive me for my ignorance, am I understanding this correctly that if I buy the shocks, I will not even need to install a leveling kit? Will 33's work with the newly installed shocks? Thanks yall

I used a 2'' level from Rancho, it's called the quick lift, It came with the strut and spring pre-assembled. They are also adjustable in that you can change the damping characteristics of the struts to get a stiffer or softer ride.

I am running 305/65/18 tires and it's about 33.6'' tall, so yes 33's will fit with the level. Pics in my garage.

You should aslo see the tire fitment thread, it's extemely long, but there is a bunch of info in there about tire size, leveling kits and wheel sizing.

Exactly, the bilstein 5100 will raise your front up to 2.5 inches. It has different setting depending on what height you want. So there is no need for A spacers level kit if you get them

The 5100s are a PITA though, at least compared to spacers. You have to completely disassemble the front struts, springs, and put all that on the new shock/strut. Some notice a different ride, not sure (I went for 2.5" spacers and 1.5" in rear).
