LED bed install
With the title reading LED bed install, i assume your goal is to have lights in the bed w/ a switch to turn them on/off at will?
If so, then i just ran a power wire from the battery through the frame and up into the driverside tail light. I then tapped into that line when i was installing my lights under the rails.
I read that there is a way to use less wire and run it off of your 7 point harness. But i did not want to cut into the stock wiring, so i just ran my own w/ a dedicated fuse.

That's the right way to do it. That way a short will only fry a $5 wire and blow the inline fuse, as opposed to a $1,200 harness and main power distribution box.
Yeah, it looks like I'm going to have to do the same. I wouldn't mind tapping into the 7 point harness, but it's just too hard getting info...actually too much info without enough answers. Yeah it used to be simple to tap into the harness, but now it only works with the accessories on. I guess there's a simple way to by pass, but I can't find the post anymore.

Your info could be in there. What exactly did you search?
I'm pretty sure I did it the way you want to, splice into 7pin then run a relay jumper in the fusebox. Only downside is I have to remember to unplug it when I tow (which doesn't happen).
I can flick a switch whenever for instant light. Running or not.

I'm thinking about it as I search for the pic of the jumper.
I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong but I think light's wire to switch, switch wires to 7pin constant hot and ground, jumper in fuse box. I can take a pic of where the jumper goes tomorrow if you want that. The jumper was $5-7 to make. Buy a 10 pack of male connectors, take some wire that's 2-3" long and connect the males. Install.

No pic of the jumper wire but it gives a location.
THIRD EDIT: what you're looking for.... post #10. It has links, pics and info.

Thanks man, that's awesome! The only way I can find things in here is by googling. I never seem to find what I'm looking for when I search in here...but I do use a cell phone...maybe easier with a PC. I basically conceded that I may have to run a line off the battery...so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now!? I'll be hooking everything up this weekend. I already have the lights ready and all tucked into their spots. Thx again
