Default leak help

I woke up to find some oil or something on the driveway. Of course I have no clue what it is... any thoughts would be appreciated

Looks like your rear differential is leaking.

Pinion seal. Take it in and get it fixed soon. You do not want your rear end to run out of oil.

Any idea how much the dealerships charge to fix? I don't have time to do it myself

This is just a guess but I would say a couple hours + the seal. Not knowing the labor rate in your area I would say $250 - $ 300ish. You could hold off on the repair but you will need to check the oil often.

Yup pinion seal, both my 2011 and 2013 had the same problem. Took them about an hour and a half to fix. I couldn't tell you the cost, as mine were done under warranty. Just waiting for my current truck to start leaking too.

Dropping it off at the dealer tomorrow. Will update on issue / price... seriously happened in like a day...no issues... then BAM... i swear ford has a remote control. As soon as they see the title is clear issues start happening

Noticed the same thing on mine yesterday, I have an appointment next week to get it looked at under warranty.

Forgot to add that every single one of my trucks has has that seal replaced at least once.

Let me know how it goes with the dealer, Burnie329; what's the mileage on your truck?

Having your dealer take a look at this is the best first step, soaringfalcon. Please let me know how it goes, and also fill me in with the current mileage on your truck; I'll look into some available options.
