Default Key Code ...Ugg

Well I looked behind the rear seat, in the foor well, and on the passanger side footwell all for good measure and could not find the door key code 5 digit number. All the dealers around here want $51 plus tax to extract it from the computer. That seems like a ripoff to me.

Anyone else have a local on the module since the Ford dealers wont devulge where these things are located "never printed in the car anyplace." It's a 09 F150 Super Crew, Lariat, with the Sony/Navigation upgrade if that makes any difference at all on the module location.

I know many have said before when I mentioned it that I should get the selling dealer, not a Ford dealer, to pay for the code, but that's not going to happen after the fact. My bad for not thinking of it during the negotiations. Never had a car with a key code deal!

Appreciate any and all help. hate having a feature I can't use!

screw that, make them pay for it anyway! they can probably extract the info just as easily as a ford dealer.

That is a rip off... What I would recommend is... if the truck is still under warranty... Take it to the dealer and tell them the key code does not work... they will ask what it is...and give them a random number. They will try it...and try it... and it wont work... they will be forced to reset it to the factory default, or order a new keypad and have it set to another code...

Not sure that will work because if you set your own custom code the factory code will still work. I might have misunderstood the plan though.

I'm assuming the dealership would try the custom code and when it didn't work they would say "Well Sir we can't get it either and are gonna have to reset it using the factory code" and he will reply " I lost my factory remote card when I lost my wallet (white lies are ok in my book) and need y'all to look it up". Then they fix him up and he is on his way.

Try this site http://www.fordf150.net/howto/keypad1.php

Your vehicle has a factory-set 5-digit code that operates the keyless entry system. The code is located on a sticker on the computer module (RAP).

Any where exactly do you live.... LOL...

I used to be a Ford Mechanic years ago..and they "USED" to have a default code that would work... I can't recall what it was... but anyway, I was under the assumption that once you programmed a custom code, it would bypass the factory code, thus you would not be able to use that number any longer. I very well may be wrong with my statement... Either way... good luck and keep us posted...
