Default Hypertech Programmers

Anyone used a Hypertech programmer on a 09 yet? I have a buddy that works there and I can get a good deal on one. Just curious whay experience any one has with the power or mpg increases.

I have one on my 09. I can't compare it to any other tuner but I'm happy with it. I also have one on my Duramax and it works great on the Diesel.

Can't comment on the MPG improvements. I put this on immediately after I bought the truck.

What are the chances on getting in on the deal for purchasing one from your buddy?

Yes....I have gotten some extra performance out of mine. I also had to get the tire size right because I running 325-60-20 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I'm running about 19-20 mpg hwy.

I had a Diablo for my '06 Screw that was actually better for speedo calibration, but the Hypertech is easier to use and seems to flash much quicker. I'm only running the 87 octane tune. I'll probably switch to the 91 tune soon.

I need to recalibrate my 2009 F 150 because I upgraded from 17" to 20" factory wheels/tires. However, I don't want to spend the money to buy a programmer because I would only use it once. Any suggestions?

Well, I got hooked up with my buddy at the races this weekend and he brought me my new programmer. I have not had a chance to program it yet but will soon. I will let you know about the changes I see.

Been using the Hypertech for about two months. I just recently reprogrammed back to stock. I am having a bit of problem with detonation-pinging. Using the 87 octane setting and still getting it even if I burn 91 in the tank. Having said that here are my findings:
-noticeably better low end throttle response with programmer on 87 Octane setting.
-Fuel consumption average 17 litres per 100km combined driving. Towing travel trailer(30 ft approx 7500 lbs) 18 litres per 100km.
-without tuner Fuel consumption approx 18.5 litres per 100km combined driving. Towing travel trailer 22 litres per 100 km.

I will be using the programmer especially for towing and continue to monitor the pinging situation. I spoke to Hypertech Support, they state that I am probably not getting the best quality gasoline. I certainly do not disbelieve that, though at $ 1.138 per liter (3.8 litres = 1 US gallon=$ 4.3244 Canadian dollars!!!) you would think the gas should be first quality!
Any way best of luck.
