Default Hypertech

Ok i have a 2010 f150 stx 4x4 with the 4.6l 2v. I put on a flowmaster force II kit and it sounds amazing. I started looking at programmers and i hear alot of good about the sct but i dont need anything too extreme. I want some power and decent gas mileage where i wont have to go through the hassle of getting custom tuned, but i want something that is safe and will last a very long time. Was reading about the hypertech and it seems to do all id want. Any advice would help. I came from grand prix gtp land and i had it tuned and it was a headache more than anything.

I tried both SCT and Hypertech and I now have Hypertech. It gives me more control over the truck because I do all the changes. No need to wait for the tuner to email anything. I changed tires, and axle ratio and Hypertech allowed me to compensate for that. The speedo was slightly off the first time, so I measured the tires manually and did another correction. Now it's perfect!

I also adjusted the shift points and the truck picks up speed now pretty good. I use Premium Gas (Shell, 91) which here in ON, Canada has 0% Ethanol. SCT is more powerful and more customizable no doubt; but it might be better suited to people who SERIOUSLY modify their truck and need professional updates. If you only plan on adding a CAI eg, Hypertech is all you need, in my opinion.

Do you do all that stuff yourself? How does it connect to the truck? I need to google it more but is it similar to a honda flashpro? I'm coming from the world of Si's, so not sure if it's similar...

It plus in under your dash, below and to the right of the steering wheel. Just plug in your new tuner and follow the prints on the tuner's screen, pick from the options you are given, and just wait a bit while it tunes your ride.

FYI, you don't need a custom tune to use SCT. It comes with a basic tune already, but you have the option to custom tune later if you change your mind.
