What all came in this "manual to electronic HVAC controls upgrade kit" I believe this may be part of my problem trying to go from Sync 1 (no screen) to Sync 2/ ready for Sync 3 upgrade.
I've got a really stupid question (trying to plan out here). I've got a '13 F150 with the 4.2" screen; and when I am able to, I'd like to piece together the Sync 3 system.
The one thing that I'm seeing that seems to be impossible to find is the faceplate for a '13 F150 for manual climate controls and the 8" screen. Is there a ready supply of these anywhere? If not (here's the stupid question), is simply taking the 4.2" XLT faceplate/bezel and trimming it an option?

Only the 2014 Tremor came with that configuration, so those are very rare, as only 2,230 were made. Your best bet is to find a dual climate 8" bezel in your trim and use that, everything but the dual climate will work.
Pay close attention to the wires you have and the wires you need. On my 17 xlt my camera shield wire was missing (Pin 33 Apim). And my zoom wasn't working. I found the shield wire at c238 driver side kick panel pin 8 bottom grey plug. I ran a wire from there to the Apim pin 33 and now everything works.
This also cleared up several DTCs I was getting about ground fault at the tail lights and etc.
Forgive me everyone. It’s early and I’m rushing to get my son to school so I haven’t had time to really dig into this. And I’m just now considering doing this swap but I have no idea what I am doing. I found this below on Craigslist and I’m just trying to see what else would be needed. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Forgot to add my truck is a 2013 XLT with 4.2” display. No dual climate control.
I've got a 13' with basic sync and am considering attempting to upgrade. For me this will include at minimum a different dash wiring harness and a modification to the dash. I only found one difference when I took apart my dash and compared it to several videos on youtube.
Of those of you who have done this mod can any of you remember the part # or have pictures of your wiring harness? Specifically looking for a xlt with backup sensors, autolights, backup camera, manual climate and with the 4.2" screen.
Also these are the connections a basic sync system has.
