How to fix the 1-2 hard shift
...install 35 inch tires!
Ever since I installed my lift and 35" tires, the 1-2 shift has been smooth every time. Maybe having a little load on the power train helps?? Anyone else discovered this? I had the TSB updates performed, but they still didnt really help the hard 1-2 shift.
Just thought I'd share, may help theorize why this is an issue in the first place. All f150s should come with larger tires :-D

Actually, no. So far ive put about 400 miles on the truck, the problem I think you are talking about is the over sensitive traction/stability control kicking in, and it has once so far, on a tight slow turn on a bumpy road, but I had this happen even with stock tires, and now with 35s and about 60psi, the tires bounce more, so I think the system is working fine - although it could be a touch less sensitive
Some ppl are having the issue while others arent. I also think that with a bigger tire it is very important to make sure all PSI levels are very close to the same. Larger tires will show the difference more and the truck is more inclined to think that one wheel is spinning faster than the other activating the TCS.

60 PSI really? That just seems high to me, no wonder they are bouncing..
Although I've never had 35's so maybe that's what they call for.

actually the with bigger tires wouldnt the internal speedo read slower than stock. Indicating to the GYRO sensor that when you take a turn at 10mph speedo it FEELS to the sensor like a 15mph force so it will apply the breaks do to the PERCIEVED notion of a loss of traction. Just thinking out loud.
