Fuel Rafe
Say what?????? Do you mean fuel rate? And what is engineering mode?
It seems like the answer you may be looking for is that the fuel rate in MPG in "engineering mode" will tell you the miles per gallon of fuel you are using.
So for example, the rate of fuel use is one gallon for 20 miles of driving.

I think he means "fuel ralph". That is the involuntary physical reaction caused when you suck too hard on the siphon hose when you are trying to steal gas from your brother's car and you swallow some.
Actually, its Engineering Test Mode (sorry about misspelling engineering - get over it).
- On the cluster, hold the SELECT/RESET button in
- Turn ignition switch & start engine
- Hold SELECT/RESET button in for about 5 seconds until display says ENGINEERING TEST MODE
- Then press the button to cycle thru to "FUEL RAFE".
To exit, just hold the button in for about 3 seconds or just turn ignition to OFF.
Incidentally, the above shows a lot of interesting data. Shows actual RPMs, tranny & radiator temps albeit in degrees centigrade. I don't understand all that the data represents and that's the reason for the question.

No, actually it is called Instrument Cluster Dealer Test Mode (get over it).
The words "Engineering Test Mode" are only the first two lines of display once you enter the Instrument Cluster Dealer Test Mode.
One of the values displayed as you cycle through the many variables shown during the test mode is " FUEL RAFE" which stands for the "running average fuel economy (RAFE)." This is expressed as xx.x MPG from 0 miles to 99.9 miles per gallon.
Blah, blah, blah.
