Default High Mileage Issues

Just wondering if anybody has kept their f150 beyond 120k miles? Specifically the 09-14 years with a 5.0. What kind of nickel & dime or major issues have you had? I'm the type of person that doesn't let problems slide and want to avoid throwing money at constant nuisances. Thanks.

Congrats, you just broke in your engine. 😂 I had triple your mileage on mine and it gave me no issues. Rear end was replaced, and that’s about it.

Hard to believe you didn't have problems with accessories or small mechanical or electrical problems. The engine itself isn't so much a concern.

I’m at 160,000 in a 2013 XLT 5.0 4x4. The only thing I had to repair was 1 TPMS sensor that died at around 110,000 miles. Quick trip to the local dealer and I was back in business!
These trucks will take care of you, if you take care of them.

- Watch out for the EPAS steering. Can't replace pieces, it's all or nothing. Expensive.

- Rust.

- Speeding tickets.

You can change the inner and outer tie rod ends and boots just like on a regular rack.

What happened to your steering?

Where have you had rust? I clean mine regularly during the winter to avoid rust. I still had to replace my bumpers due to rock chips. I have another rock chip behind rear passenger door, that'll be about $250 to repair.

My co worker has 265k on his 2011 5.0 no problems only routine maintenance oil, plugs, fluids changes. My brother had 170k on his 2012 only general maintenance. He just changed his plugs and fluids for the first time the other day.
