Maybe cover the bumpers in something. Linex or clear film.

I'm at 75k miles. You guys are giving me a lot of hope. I just had my truck up on the lift doing an oil change yesterday, pretty rusty underside due to its Canadian origins. What spots in the body are prone to rust issues? Also, can anything be done once rust starts to develope? Like sand, prime, and paint? I don't think I would have the problem reccuring since I don't really live in a rust region.

Let's see if I can remember everything (It's not much).
2011 FX2 5.0 Luxury Package (101,xxx miles):
Coolant reservoir leak - replaced under warranty
All 3 blend doors for the AC (Dual Climate Control) - failed at different times
Resistor for the blower motor - I replaced it
Rear defrost heating element - replaced under warranty and was a rear window replacement since you can't fix the heating element separately
I think that's all of it. Despite those issues the truck is one of the best I have ever owned.

Yeah, Ford really screwed up on those rear glass defrost heaters. I had mine replaced under warranty about 2 years ago and the new heaters have failed again. It's not a big deal for me but it's just a poor design and they did nothing new to correct the problem. They left their customers high and dry by not redesigning the heaters or glass.
