Default Help with Sync, Bluetooth in my 2012.

So i just bought my new 2012 xlt today, and i'm having issues figuring out how to get my iPhone to sync with the truck so that i can use this option.

When it didn't work for my salesman on the lot today, he told me i needed to update my phone(which i've never done before), so i did and i still cannot get it to sync with the truck. I updated it, i've tried turning it off and then back on, i don't know what to do. When the bluetooth is searching for something to connect to, it just keeps searching and searching and searching. It will never connect for whatever reason.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work.

Could it be my phone?

Could it by my truck? We never did try another phone with it today to see if it would work.

Thanks for the help.

Make sure that you have blue tooth turned on. Also, under some sort of wireless settings or bluetooth menu make sure your phone is set to "allow phone to be discovered" or some thing similar.

i know what you're doing wrong man....

you need to treat your truck, as if it is a earpiece.

this kinda got me in the pants too, when i tried to pair my droid phone, anyways, at the end of the post, i have a link that should help you.

anyways, when the pairing thing is starting to work properly, the truck should broadcast a pin number, which you enter into the phone.

here's the link i got from youtube.

remember man, myself, i always try to search on google and youtube before i ask here.

but, frustrations do happen...

your welcome.

What a great video!
Wish I had thought to seek this one whensetting mine up. Would have saved a few hours of frustration.
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for all of the help guys.

Turns out it's just my phone. We tested three other iphones on it and they were able to sync to the truck no problem. I even went to a Verizon store for help and we just came to the conclusion that it's best for me to claim insurance on the phone and get a new one.

With the bluetooth turned on it will just search forever and never find the truck to sync with.

Hell it won't even find a wifi network. Something is wrong with it, but i'm glad to know we were able to figure it out.

Thanks again.

hey man... it's all good here. always remember tho, if you have a problem, it's always best to check on google pics first, then go to youtube, and then... be prepared to search long and hard for a solution when on google site searches.

it's how i learned. then, if i can't find an answer, i'll ask someone on the forum... and i always pass on what i learned.

more like a "been there done that" sort of thing

Glad a simple phone swap solved it!

My Verizon phone wouldn't sync to my 2012 either. The Ford Dealer tried and said it was incompatible. So just today, I went to the Verizon store where I bought it. A man came out and in about 15 minutes he had it working. He seemed to be really knowledgable about this, maybe other Verizon people wouldn't be able to do it just as the Ford Dealer couldn't. Anyway it is working perfectly now.
