Question Help Finding an exhaust

I have my truck built basically to where I would like it to be. One thing that I have been wanting to add to my truck is an exhaust system, but I do not want to add a system that sounds like a 16 year olds muffler delete. I'd like to have that aggressive grumble but don't want to be heard from across town. I am in college so I would like to keep the price as low as possible if anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it! I drive a 2010 XLT with the 5.4 triton
Thanks!

BrotherDunn...
Welcome!
.
Since the OEM exhaust system is stainless steel (and already free-flowing, straight thru) would recommend just replacing the muffler.

I installed a MBRP 3" cat back into my 09 5.4l and it's borderline too loud. The sound is great, but the drone around 2k rpms is almost too much. It's great when you're in the country, or backroads, but in city driving it's obnoxious considering you spend most of your time around 2k rpms. The reason I'm saying this is because I've seen the same MBRP system listed as a "Medium" when it comes to loudness. Just an FYI.

Finding a muffler is your best best as you're keeping costs down. However, you're limited as many/most will introduce the abovementioned drone, try finding a muffler from a catback that advertises no drone. Also, you'll not get much/anything at idle unless it's also obnoxious when you get on it.

true, however the size of exit can have an effect on the tone. I personally have a 5" tip dumped over the axle out of sight and it definitely has a deeper tone than stock.
