Default Headrest Angle

OK what have you done to alter the hideous angle of our headrests. I know of the simple trick of turning them 'backwards', but really???? Is there an aftermarket headrest available which has an adjustable angle?

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated..

My 14 Supercrew has adjustable angle headrests from the factory. You can pull them to any angle you want and they will stay there. If you pull them all the way forward they will reset to verticle.

My '13 has tilt-/height-adjustable headrests, as well. If yours doesn't, you might see if you can interchange with a newer MY that does.

I just reclined the seat a little. I know what you mean though, after my first test drive I asked the sales guy how to tilt it back, but these can't. 5 years later I don't even notice it.

Right. If you bought a used vehicle and don't have the manuals, owner.ford.com has them in PDF form, and this is described under "Tilting Head Restraints (if equipped)".

Thank-you. The headrest issue really comes into play while I am wearing a wide brim hat. I too have become accustomed to 'tilting' the seat back, or reversing the headrest to accommodate wearing my hat for the aggressive forward exaggerated headrest tilt.

Some say, well take the hat off...well where do you put it if your truck is either full of passengers and/or cargo....?? Not only that, I am tired of 'laying' sideways between the two front seats and all the other shenanigans to make this work...

There will be some sort of correction made to this on my part as I have now taken it on as a project and will find a suitable solution alleviating this issue.

Thanks again for all of the responses and sorry for my rant...

LOL

Ha Ha Ha..I know you mean well, and I knew that this apparatus existed, but c'mon..These headrests in my 2010 are just beyond ridiculous. I think Ford engineering got enough of the backlash from this headrest tilt and changed things up on the newer Ford models....yet have no solution rectifying their mistake with these in mine..

no worries, and thanks for the input...I'll get these corrected to my satisfaction on my own...even if i have to build new ones myself...
