Lightbulb Headlight recommendations?

Ive had my 2011 F150 for just a little over two years and Im already needing a third set of aftermarket projector headlights. My first set were purchased from Amazon, and were Recons I believe. They looked great for a year then the clear coating started to peel and one of the halos went out.

Second set were purchased on ebay, brand "JP Genuine" and same deal, after only a year clear coat peeling and on these the halos and several LED's are out on one side. These were only a couple hundred bucks so Im not real surprised.

Does anyone make a quality set of projector headlights for these trucks under $500?

I would look in the search menu and do a retrofit job. Buy the complete setup from TRS, for $315 you get bulbs, projectors, wiring harness, ballast and shroud.

This is your best bet. Factory headlights are much better quality than the aftermarket stuff out there, especially the "projector/halo" lights. You'll end up with better light output that is less intrusive to oncoming drivers.

Ive looked into it but taking on a project like that isn't possible for me right now. Are there really no quality aftermarket headlights for these trucks?

There arent really quality aftermarket headlights for anything in that price range. the Factory HIDs are well over 1k because theyre good quality, if you want quality, I'd save for those.

You can try cheap again? lol

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've been using these for months and they have been working flawlessly. I have seen people who have had them for years with no issues but I also found 1 guy whos had them for a year and a half with the peeling like you saw on your other cheap ones. There's also a guy who got a defective one, but the seller was extremely polite and quick with setting the guy up for a replacement or a refund.

Just giving you all the info I have on these, he also has them in black and chrome. Worth a shot? up to you but for me it was and I love them!

If you go with a cheaper set again (or even get good ones) you might want to look into some clear paint protection film to protect the lenses.

I have these. Over 2 years now and no issues. ANZO is an OEM supplier of automotive headlights. While the U-bar are not for everyone they are an escape from the "Typical" LED (Light Emitting Dots). Not a fan of the cheesy dot lights. At least not when there is so much more technology out there. Nearly every car manufacturer put those sick looking dots on their vehicles...like there is no creativity anymore.

Thanks, I went with these. After some more research I found out that Spyder and Recon are made by the same Chinese company, probably why both were junk. These Anzo's are made in Taiwan, but hopefully better quality.

Anyone have any recommendations on a sealant? Thought about some clear RTV but I dont know if that would be visible, depending on where the seams are.

What are you sealing them for? Retrorubber from TRS or 3m windshield sealant is whats used on retrofits...
