This makes sense - it is all smog test related stuff.... which means you actually do not want to buy it if it isn't smog certified. So this is a moot issue for you.

Question

Anyone have any insight on this who lives in PA?

I currently live in VA and am picking my truck up two weeks before I move to my new job in PA. It is a 2011 FX4 Ecoboost.

Am i going to have any issues? I was told that as long as they go to smog testing and pass then you are ok.

HELP!?

Crazy thing is, I live in an area of PA that does not even require a smog sticker.

Would that area of PA be included in the "Northern" section according to the DMV? I see that Erie only requires the gas cap check and the anti tampering check. They do not require any tailpipe emissions.

I am guessing you fall in to this category?

This has been the case in New York for years and it completely sucks. I've found several trucks that would fit my needs in FL and TX but cannot buy them since they do not have California emissions.

The over appressive government regulation is killing interstate commerce!

I purchased mine in NJ and I believe on the window sticker it stated that it was CA emissions compliant I don't have the window sticker handy but when I get a chance I will look at it...

I called Penndot to clear it up and depending on what region you live in you have different testing requirements.

I asked the lady and she stated it does not have to specifically say "CA Emissions Compliant" but it does have to pass emissions testing.

Emissions testing for Erie, PA where I am moving to is only a visual inspection and a gas cap chekc to make sure it doesnt leak....curious to see how they do a gas cap check on a truck with no gas cap.

Other counties have tail pipe testing and even dynamometer tail pipe testing. Hope this helps!

So you can buy legal pot in Cali, but cant roll a diesel with stacks... LAME haha, for good reasons, since they are taking away peoples big bad trucks, they have to find a way to keep them happy while they are being raped like a prisoner...

I'm confused by your comparison.
Yes, California is a forward thinking state.
