And it sticks? I want a two tone look for my 12 silver screw, but every body shop I've spoken to says you can't paint over chrome.

I know a lot of people who plastidipped over chrome with no issues!

Plastidip is not paint. It adheres differently. So yes you can apply Plastidip, but not paint. You'd have to have the chrome stripped to be able to paint it.

Can't wait to see the results. You are one gutsy-****.

Edit: I'm scrolling back through the thread now and see the pics. You're still a gutsy-**** but WOW, it turned out REALLY good.

Yes you can - just not on chrome exhaust. Heat will destroy it.

Correct

Thanks.

I think the exterior is finally done. The three big things were Plastidip, 5100 to level and finally the Nittos. I agree that until the three were completed, it looked awkward.

The truck in person looks better and it's most certainly a head turner - and there's nothing like mine around here. Seen a few Blue Flames that look great but the plastidip makes it stand apart for sure.

(Been called worse before) Yeah, I was definitely taking a chance but I did a lot of research - on this forum and talking to others - and I love the way it turned out!

Thanks for the info. Dipping the bumpers, rocker panels, side steps, and maybe the grill. What's your take? I'm set on everything but the grill. Do I dip it to match, or find an ingot silver grill? Also, smoke or gun metal? What color was done on the blue flame? I want to be sure that my color choice goes well with my silver. Thanks again for all the great tips.

Thanks for the info. Dipping the bumpers, rocker panels, side steps, and maybe the grill. What's your take? I wouldn't dip the steps - at least not the top where you walk. Plastidip is pretty strong but I wouldn't trust the constant stepping on the bars. It will wear out. If you're talking just the chrome, that's fine.

I'm set on everything but the grill. Do I dip it to match, or find an ingot silver grill? As far as color match, my buddy did a brown on his rocker panels so I'm pretty sure it can be done... but not sure if a private person such as yourself has the equipment to do that. You'll have to look into that further. My buddy (and I) had it professionally done. I know the rocker panels are a *itch to do regarding getting a straight, crisp line. The first time the guy did mine, he asked me to wait for a less humid day.

Also, smoke or gun metal?
I know they make a Smoke - not sure about Gun Metal.

What color was done on the blue flame?
Black
, just plain black.

I want to be sure that my color choice goes well with my silver. Thanks again for all the great tips.
My pleasure.

The color match comment...I meant with a silver truck, do I dip the grill the same color as the rockers and bumpers, or find a silver grill. I really like the black grill on your blue. Just not sure how it would look on silver.
