Default Fx4 shocks vs regular shocks

If I could get Fx4 shocks without 50 miles on them, would I notice any difference over my shocks on my 2009 screw xtl with 60k miles? If I could get a good deal ($70ish +/- for all four) do you think itd be worth it? Plus about $100 install of the front two, don't have a coil spring compressor or I would do it myself.

I don't think you'd feel the biggest difference. I'd suggest spending an extra bit and get the 5100s. From what I hear they make a big difference.

Noticeable? Nope, not likely.
Like Logan24 said, spend some additional $$ on the Bilsteins or Ranchos. Heck even some good KYB's would be an upgrade over the OEM units.

Honestly id save the 70 bucks and come up with 210 more for some decent shocks. I have a 2010 fx4 screw and I have a buddy with a XLT screw the ride is pretty much the same.

I was about to say...are the shocks even different between the models (Raptor notwithstanding obviously).

Serious question.

To the OP, new shocks are always going to feel better, but the 5100s are the ****.

According to a detailed VIN report my 2011 FX4 OFF ROAD has ...
Premium Off Road Frt/Rr Shock Absorbers
Which IMO implies that there is a difference.

Are they different part numbers?

I know on the Mustang Ford claims "premium shocks/struts" on the Brembo package cars, but the part number is the same as the non-Brembo cars.

Yup, the difference is they suck a little less than the non premium offroad shocks.

hah~

you can get spring compressors pretty cheap, they're handy to have (and some of the stores may rent them to you free)

my truck is only at 14k but I think the 5100's are the next mod (and maybe swaybars). the roads around here suck
