FX2 vs FX4
Seems a lot of folks buy the FX4 over the FX2. I decided against the FX4 due to the fact that I don't really go off road, and I didn't want to pay the extra for 4WD.
What do y'all think?

I don't use 4wd very often either. However for that 1% chance when I will need 4wd, it's nice to know I have it. Plus it will probably help with resale value for when I trade it in in the future.

I bought my 5.0l Fx2 because I got it for the same price as the lower optioned XLT Eco I was looking at. Already have a 4x4 vehicle, so I didn't need another.
Coming from a GMC Z71 that rarely saw 4wd as i got older it was only right to get the FX2 i have now. I did opt for the e-locker and 3.55 gear when i do put a level and AT tires on for a little piece of mind. The FX4 will definitely have a better resale value though.
Same here no need for the extra cost involved with 4x4 if I dint go off roading, and if it does go off road im sure the truck can handle it. Plus needed as much towing capabilities as possible since I didnt get max tow...

I've owned 4wd trucks since 99 and I live in central AR. I have needed 4wd probably a dozen times in this time span. Could I have made it without it, yes but it was nice having it. When I first looked at the 13's, I looked at a fully loaded white Eco FX2. I thought about getting it and lowering the rear maybe 1"-2". And then I looked at the FX4 and went with it. I told myself I would own my current truck 4-5 yrs and would keep up with how many times I really use the 4wd.
I have no need for a 4wd and didn't want to pay the additional money for the 4x4 system, added weight & complexity, and more to repair/service.
If I had a valid need for it, that would be a different story, the benefit would offset the cost, but the only time my truck will see off road is if I accidentally get a wheel off in the grass turning in the driveway.
And snow....in Alabama....LOL!! Uh...no.

I was head strong on getting an 13 fx2, had it negotiated and everything. But in the end, I went for the fx4 for a couple of reasons.
1. I'm in Ks (been here for a year) and the weather here can be erratic. Last year in snowed a few times and the roads were pretty bad. My Subaru came in handy.
2. Since I live in the midwest, I'm in the center of the US with plenty of places to go that may be off the beaten path. Road trips anyone?
3. I've always wanted a polaris or quad and in order to enjoy those, you need to take them to dirt roads.
4. Resale value.
