I agree that 4x4 trucks resale for more, its just common sense, but you guys have to consider that you are paying more upfront as well.
Sort of equals out (maybe not exactly but pretty close I feel)

I used the Durango once last winter. My 2wd did fine for all the other snow storms. I did have to dig out a drift behind my truck once though.

I went with a FX2 already have a 4x4 no need for two. Also don't really need 4x4 where I'm at.

Proabably why Ford sells so many trucks. They appeal to more then just the working man and hillbillies now. (Truck driving stereotypes are changing) Some trim levels are actually on par with luxury vechicle models and offer comfort and safety smaller cars can't duplicate.

I fall into that category. I'm simply a big guy at 6'5" 260lbs and enjoy a big vehicle. I rarely tow or haul anything outside of my bicycle and motorcycle.

I simply enjoy the comfort and utility a truck provides.

I was faced with an possible opportunity to relocate to DFW from Orlando prior to buying my FX2. Had I opted to move to The Dallas area, I would have bought the 4x4, knowing that the area does get some ice and snow. I'm comfortable with my FX2 w/e-Lock and 3.55 in Florida since I don't tow or off-road.

I bought mine for the tow hooks. I have no need for 4wd, but the fact that there was no way to install tow hooks without changing to the FX4 lower valance was the deal breaker for me on the FX2. Had I not been hung up on that I would have opted for the painted flares of the FX2 instead.

I am honest and admit that I spend at least 90% of the time in conditions that a 2wd would be just fine but at the same time 4 days after I bought my truck it spent a week in 4wd while snow boarding and driving through a blizzard. My wife has needed it a few times while in oregon during bad ice and snow. I've also had a few times when visiting back home that I had to have 4wd just to get around my parents farm. But at the same time my truck has gone everywhere I needed it and I've even had some random fun in the mud without a huge lift and tires like most lifted pavement queens.
