I'm not jealous... erm, nm... I have an FX2. The perfect blend of truck, style and comfort (for me, of course).

Just looked in your garage. I was wondering how those tweeters are working for ya? What are they? And how did you wire them? Straight into the door speakers?

They are Boston Acoustics SE50 components. There is a door adapter for the 5.25-inch driver and the crossover is mounted on the interior panel ledge. The dome tweeter has a single hole drilled for wiring in the upper trim. It was a simple install and they're relatively inexpensive.

They sound great with the factory head unit as well!

I have a 2009 Platinum. I envy nothing. Well... maybe the 2011 EcoBoost Platinum owners.... but not much.

With the offroad package now available on the XLT, what does the FX4 have over the XLT other than some cosmetic differences on the outside and some luxury options on the inside? I went back and forth for a while (the FX4 exterior is quite sharp) and finally ordered an XLT last week. I just didnt want to give up the benefits of the 60/20/60 front seat for a floor shifter on an automatic transmission. Makes no sense, while they are at it why not take out the front passenger seat for the turning signal lever?

No envy here - I started out looking for an FX4 but passed one up for a Lariat 3.5L ecoboost with the off road package. More Luxury than the FX4 and still has the locking diff, and skid plates. Getting a front level next week with a 1" rear lift just in time to go hunting in sept to try it out.

Lariat with offroad package= FX4
Add the premium package for the FX4 and there is essentially zero difference except for cooled seats and of course a bigger bill for the lariat since the options add up to more $$$$.

I’m befuddled by your post.......the different trim models by definition mean they have "some cosmetic differences on the outside and some luxury options on the inside" different than others for the most part. They all are basically an F150 truck, the trims give different additions externally and internally. (option restrictions such as engines or gears allowed or disallowed, though possibly forcing you to choose a different trim, do not inherently change the trim itself, an ecoboost in the truck or not does not change it from an FX4 to a Platinum for example)

But once you get you XLT you will probably be back just like all these Platinum owners trying to convince yourselves that you picked the correct trim, hoping that if you keep telling yourselves that you’re not over and over and over it may become true.......We understand you despair, that is the reason for this thread...let it out.....empty yourself of all that self abuse you are beating yourself up with......
