The FX Envy Thread
my truck has been stickerless since day 1. its the f150 ghost recon edition. limited edition in 1997. comes with 4x4, 14.9L v8, tow package, and on star, except when you press it instead of the local dispatch you get the navy SEALs... its pretty much more badasser than XLTs, lariats, FX2s, FX4s, STXs, platinums, harley davidsons, king ranches, heavy dutys and raptors.
I gneed to get me one of them trucks.
I got a 2009 FX4 cause my first F150 was a 2004 FX4 supercab and I loved that truck. Had a two year lease and when that was up I got an XLT with the chrome package. Was a nice truck too but I missed the interior options and drive-ability of the FX4. Two years ago I then bought a 2009 FX4 w/luxury package that was a lease return with only 700 miles on it. I've absolutely loved it and done a lot of customizing along the way. Has navigation to which I added the DVD in drive over-ride module, moonroof, leather heated seats, and on and on. When the 2011 Limited came out I thought they looked awesome, so I started customizing my truck similarly. Added the box lettering, blacked out 'Ford' logos on grille and tailgate, have the harley davidson head & tail lights, harley davidson grille and front bumper/valance, harley davidson 22" wheels w/custom black decaled limited center caps and toyo proxes 305/40/22 tires, painted wheel moldings, 'Limited' door sill plates, bed rug and tonneau cover, and interior f150 rubber mats. Also have yet to add the following which I've already purchased: retractable steps off a platinum, lariat style gauge cluster(switching out the center and keeping the FX4 of course), interior ambiant lighting, and backup camera. Only other things I may add which I haven't acquired yet is the electric sliding rear window and the drivers side mirror with blind spot bubble. Looking back now its easy to say I should've bought a harley davidson, platinum, or limited truck but the price tag was so high on those at the time and I got mine for a steal of a price. Plus, I wanted a 6.5' box on it. Never thought I'd do all the customizing either but it's nice to take a truck and make it your personalized own. I also prefer to keep a clean factory look as I'm not big on aftermarket stuff so everything on mine is pretty much factory takeoff.
