Default Front Bumper Rust

This is my 2012, just in case anyone wants to see a rusty front bumper...

My plan is to pull it, sandblast and line x.

Holy cow! That is rusting pretty bad.

I just picked up a 2014 and it already had 5-6 spots on both the front/rear chrome bumper that are starting to show spots of rust. My plan was similar, remove the bumpers and then apply something like line X to them. I just need to do my homework on how to prep the chrome before I start.

Show off some pictures when you are all done, so we can see how it turns out!

The PTM front ends look good but this is why chrome is a lot more practical.

Mine was starting to get chipped up, not rusting as bad as yours though. I had the bumper and upper fascia sprayed with Line-X;

I had the same problem with my bumper. I ended up having it sprayed also. I am really happy with the results.

Curious to see how the silver line x matches up to the ingot silver. I had mine repainted once already but it's starting again.

Agreed 100%. Went from an XLT to FX4 just liked the PTM look a little better than the chrome. Only downside to the PTM look is road rash on the bumpers, front especially. I just noticed after the winter weather and salt i've got just a bit of rust starting to form on the rear bumper just under the black plastic trim top piece sits...but them again i've seen chrome bumpers rust as well.

Will the warranty against rust cover the chrome or painted bumpers ?

No because the rust warranty states it has to be perforated. (A HOLE).

If I had painted bumpers they would have been 3m clear vinyled on day 1! would have solved all these issues guys.
