Several times this year I've tried to open my tailgate and found it frozen shut. Yesterday I figured out that it's not the tailgate freezing, but rather my bakflip bedcover freezing to the tailgate.
Is there anything I can do to keep the cover from freezing to the tailgate? Yesterday I was able to run a key under it and break the ice, but I don't want to do that again and risk tearing up the seal on the cover.
Thanks.

on mine i unlatch it then push the gate in to break the ice and relatch it. then open it. then theirs the bed cover freezing to the bed rails.. that i have no solution for but a spray bottle of rain x washer fluid ( winter or all season )
Thats why men carry a pocket knife... Mine does this I unfold knife and slip it in and run it the length of the seal, woila 10 sconds.
Or buy a can of silicone spray from auto store and spray the snot out of both surfaces it may prevent the issue. Vaseline will leave a greasy residue the silicone spray does not.

Fluid Flim
You can find it in aerosol form at OReilly's and a few others. It's a lubricant and corrosion preventative. It also works well on keeping water out of seals, etc. Spray it on a sponge or old shop rag, wipe down the seal, and you should have less of an issue going forward.

Put some on a rag and wipe down the contact area with the tailgate and bed cover. Do your door gaskets as well. Has a lot of other uses as well.
