That was my first thought.
Thanks but I figured my pocket knife would have a better chance of cutting the rubber seal than my keys would have.
I'll pick up some silicone spray.
Thats why men carry a pocket knife... Mine does this I unfold knife and slip it in and run it the length of the seal, woila 10 sconds.
Or buy a can of silicone spray from auto store and spray the snot out of both surfaces it may prevent the issue. Vaseline will leave a greasy residue the silicone spray does not.

my tailgate was frozen this morning for the first time. took me a couple of few minutes to figure this out, tonneau was frozen to the top of tailgate. garbage pickup today and needed some trimmings from last deer harvested. at first i thought it was a problem with the tailgate itself.
I usually just jab a screw driver in there and pry it up. I've put some holes in the seal, but I don't care.
I just recently figured out that the latches have enough spring in them to grab a corner with my fingers and just rip it up. I have some spray on junk that's supposed to keep snow and ice from sticking to snowmobile tunnels that I may give a try if it starts bothering me.
