Default Freakin' door chime!

I love me new truck! Love the ecoboost, love the selectshift, love the FX4 interior, love the supercrew cab, Love the performance, gas mileage, color, handling, well, you get it.

But I freakin' hate the door chime! Really Ford? You would think it was a warning for a nuclear meltdown the way the chime goes off if you dare open your door with the key in the ignition!

Didn't find any detailed answers here, but I think I'm going to give this youtube video solution a try tomorrow. Expect things are pretty much the same on 2011's.

I wish there was an easy way to disable it like there is for the seatbelt chime.

I had a Dakota that drove me nuts with all its chimes. I located the electronic control that housed the chime, removed it, cut the trace to the chime and NO MORE CHIME for ANYTHING!

I still got all the warnings on the dash. I'm about ready to locate the chime on my 2010 and do the same thing... Just remember, disconnect the battery first!

I actually don't mind it. A heck of a lot better than my old 95 F-150 XL with that annoying buzzer. That was the first thing that went bye-bye right after I purchased it from my father.

Worked like a charm. Blue wire, gray tracer. 5.5mm nut driver to remove the bottom of the steering column (3 screws), 8mm nut driver to remove the lower dash panel (3 screws).

Does this silence the chime when you leave your lights on as well or only the door open chime? Thanks.
