Hello from a noob here. My window sticker on the 2013 F150 I bought used from a Ford dealer says my truck has a perimeter alarm and hill start assist but I don't see any buttons or can't access the features. I bought the truck in July and it's certified from Ford and I have a 98,000 mile factory warranty that was worked into the sale price. I read the sticker today after reading this thread since I intend to activate the remote start feature and was a bit concerned about what I really have on my truck VS what the sticker says. I can call the dealer tomorrow to get some answers as well, they are a good dealer and the salesman is a friend from church. The truck is amazing and an alarm and hill assist isn't important to me personally so long as it doesn't impede the remote start activation process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

There aren't any buttons to access the hill start assist or perimeter alarm. I have a '13 as well and have both of those features. The hill start assist activates automatically when you stop on a hill. It holds the brakes until you step on the gas. The perimeter alarm activates when you lock the truck from the key fob.

Repeat for other new keys you may have, after the last key, turn the ignition off and wait 3-5 secs.

Now beginning with your original keys, try each one and see if they all start the truck.

Thanks! Good to know the code is normal. So I assume both of my keys are masters and not clones (as stated, they are original Ford keys that came with the truck new). I still haven't been able to get the key to program. I have tried this several times as well as the procedure in the owners manual. I'm going to talk to a locksmith when I get a chance.

That's the same message I get. I'll report back when I talk to him. What key did you buy? I have this one:KeylessOption Keyless Entry Remote Car Key Fob Replacement for CWTWB1U793 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AYGEOSS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3GBkyb2P9KJT4

Also, the range much less than the factory keys. Even the lock /unlock on the new key won't work from inside my house to the driveway (which is maybe 20 ft). I have to open the door and it will work, but still hit or miss. I'll probably add the antenna and see how it does then.

Hey guys. Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but seemed appropriate to me. I have a wi-fi OBD II adapter I'll give to anyone who's interested for what ever shipping would be. I'm sure it can't be more than a couple of bucks. I did modify it and installed an MS-CAN switch, but have since returned it to stock form. It works great I'm only getting rid of it because the wi-fi on my laptop died and I bought a usb version. If you're interested let me know.

Edit: Gone!

Would you be able to find out shipping to 50009? I might take it.

I have been reading a lot of reviews about those cheap Chinese keys, from what I gather, a lot of them either have bad transponders, or the transponder is missing all together. You might want to open the key to verify that the transponder is indeed in there, or get it tested at a locksmith.

Didn't get a chance to get to the locksmith today, but did open the keys up. Original key is on the right, Amazon key on the left. There definitely seems to be less going on in the Amazon key, but I'm not really sure how to tell if the transponder is there, but the DTC code it throws shows its an unprogrammed PATS key.

Can't tell much from this picture. All you can see are the contacts for the coin battery. The RFID chip is hidden somewhere within the plastic.
