My truck should be here in 2 weeks, and I have no idea what sync services you are talking about that would need to be renewed. Can you tell me some details?

Thanks!

Do you mean sirius travel link, if so, yes, I just did last week. The sync system is a permanent part of the radio. Hope this helps!

Can't live without sat radio. Have a portable xm boombox at home, with a car dock kit for the wifes car. Take the xm camping in the travel trailer. Truck got renewed about 4-5 months ago and will renew when it's do again. Listening to sat radio is like watching DVR'ed TV shows. No commercials.

I was able to pay just for the weather and sports portion and ditched the Siruis radio portion. It was $2.00 a month. I then synced up my phone with Pandora app and stream the music I want to hear. 1 commercial every 10 songs.

I think what he is talking about is the extra things SYNC does which is referred to SYNC services. If I remember correctly it comes free for 3 years and then it's $60 a year after that. Yes the SYNC phone features are always free, but the services portion does things like sports, weather, business search etc.

Exactly! $36 a year for commercial free Pandora that crosses all platforms, phones, home and work PC's. I won't be renewing.

Yea, this doesn't involve sat radio or any radio portion. This is the service your sync system uses to get you up to date wx information, traffic, business search, ect. Sync will still work in the truck if you don't get this extra service. What Sync does is calls a 1-800 to get wx, traffic, sports, ect. The 1-800 number is what you will be paying for. So if you don't pay for Sync Services everything else will still work.

Wife and I use our Sync Services very frequently. Excellent integration with smartphones (that have GPS) and Google maps.
