Default Ford Sync Hack video

Hopefully they can make this happen and give better updates online.

What do you-all think about where Ford sync is and where it should be in this current cycle of updates in the auto-tech world?

I think Ford needs to step up a bit more quickly. Things change so fast now.
Self installs of new apps and updates would help this.
A stronger app for iOS would help as well.

Oh, and quit locking us out of the info screen so much - let us build a custom list of gauges and screens or parameters that we want to track.

How about turn by turn Sync destinations on the info video screen?
How about gps on the info video screen?
Only thing it plays now is that "Built Ford Tough" at start up - kinda cool, but we want more!
Free or cheap FREQUENT software updates are the standard now.

Just my two cents.

They need to kick Microsoft to the curb and hire a company not affiliated with android or apple and then try and build a system around those two platforms and not build a systems that expect those two platforms to adapt to them.

They did, analog gauges! lol I know most here are pretty good drivers but for the other 99% do they really need more distraction? I say ditch the in dash screen and do a heads up one!

Question

really...? that is all you people got?

There is a digital display on the dash and nobody has taken the time to hack with a new background? Or just something useful like a functional volt gauge....? The cutesy ford animation that hasn't been modified?

Where have all the real geeks gone?

rather amusing that most computers "shown" were apple, same with phones, iphones... not that I like/dislike them, just a linux/android user here (I like simplicity)

I agree on the comment above about getting rid of MS for something of Ford's own, that simply adapts/compliments/works with MS/iOS/Linux as opposed to MS based... ugh ya, use it!

as for the facebook integration... I could careless about that, how about integrating a "Torque" like app into it so we can see/show what WE would like to see.

I don't want facebook anywhere near my truck any more than I want it in my computer. Too much Big Brother. There is no reason anyone needs to "check-in" when they arrive. No one gives a __ where you are.

As for the HUD and better programming in general, I'm all for it. I love technology, just not the auto-socialization of it.
