The two speed transmission which gives you the ability to have automatic all wheel drive! In climates like where I live its a must! I just turn it on and forget about it. Awesome upgrade.

It's amazing the stuff that you get used to.. I don't think I could live without my truck starter and the fact that it heats my seats when I start it in the morning. It's nice not getting into a cold truck.

By the time you get an XLT and try to add all the neat options you think you want you might as well go buy a Lariat!.

To upgrade to a lariat or fx4 it is 5k more without chrome pacage. I just cant justify the xtra 5k for a truck that I will use as a truck. The one im looking at top xlt pacage step gate, side steps, buckets, 3.55, eco comes out to 35k a striped down lariat is 40k without 3.55

Coming from a 1978 f250 any option to me is a plus. My 2011 xlt with eco and 3.31 gearing has plenty of power to tow my boat or my 12' trailer loaded down with dry wall studs and what ever I throw at it. Never had any of the issues other people r saying about the eco. We just got 2 inches of ice and another 3 inches of snow on top of that. I still didn't have to put it in 4x4 to drive around the traction controll and advance track system took care of me. As far as the back up camra I opted out and got an after market one for at least half what the add options to get it. Like some else said the nav I have on my note 2 is great and free. I would love to have the 3.73 but I didnt build it just bought of the lot. my only must have that I wanted was the trailer brake controller. Passed on three other trucks thata did not have it.

Is your XLT a crew cab? If it is a work truck I would definetely get the 3.73 rear. Its not whether people think there trucks are fine and do great its knowing the truck is set up to more than handle the tow/load factor of every day contractor work. I would think a back up camera would be handy if the truck is used for work, i know the thing thats totally diff for me coming out of a SD is the F150 window and tailgate are higher to see over, In my SD I sat higher and it was easier to back boat/trailer up. JMO.

The one thing I wish I had was the step in the tail gate. I'm not getting any younger and the truck isn't getting any lower.

AMP bedstep for the win. And it can be used with tailgate up or down.

I have a 2010 157" XLT 4x4. In 2010 the rear camera was hard to find in an XLT, so I installed and OEM one. I made sure the truck I got already had the rear sensors, having both is great. It was a pain, but that was one feature I couldn't live without here is my list:

1) Rear camera and sensors.
2) Max Tow Mirrors, especially if you tow a lot.
3) 3.73 LSD or E-locker, 3.55 is OK, but the 3.73 comes free with the tow mirrors, or vice versa .
4) Everything else is small stuff, but I will say the keypad and remote start are very convenient to have.
