Default 97 Keyless Entry Swap

Great information provided. I went with a peel and stick keypad on my 03 FX4 that didn't come with keyless entry and I learned the heard way not to lock the doors with the keys in the ignition while the truck running...when the keys were in the ignition it disabled the keypad. That was a tough lesson to learn.

NO trying to hijack the thread but there appears to be some knowledgeable fellas around here. I've had eight F150's, currently in a 2011 XLT SCrew, and recently bought a 97 Taurus GL to drive back and forth to work while holding on to my truck for traveling. I have grown use to the keyless entry on all of my trucks and I want to buy a keyless entry door handle and install it on my 97 Taurus GL. Is it as simple as buying the new keyless entry handle and swapping it out...like plug-n-play?

Any information you would provide would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Default My apologies

Guys, sorry to those whom I have not responded to and to those who have had unanswered questions. I had to make a decision back in October. I am in the last semester of paramedic school. It has consumed most of my life for almost a year. Unfortunately I do not work at the delership anymore but would be more than willing to try and help in anyway I can. Again I am sorry for starting a popular thread and abandoning it.

Tom
