Factory keypad installed problem
I have searched extensively on this but haven't seen anyone else with this problem. I have a 2011 f150 xlt 2wd, with 5.0
I added the ford autostart a few months and brought it to the dealership for them to activate it and it worked great. I recently added the factory keypad, and printed out the power point instructions where were bulletproof, and the tech followed the instructions, and the keypad works great.
The only problem now is, the autostart work. It is turned on, and I do have the autostart options on the dash. When you use the autostart , the truck blinks the running lights like it always has, then nothing,,,... then it honks the horn once.
The tech has no idea why this happened. He said he only changed the line instructions I gave him, and has no idea why. He even messed around with it for about an extra 30 minutes, and says everything is right. There is supposed to be a guy coming in later in the week that is an expert in these things, but was wondering if anyone here has ran into this.
The dealership has been great about doing this, and they only charged me for half an hour work on this, when actually he worked on it for about an hour before he gave up. So I know they are trying, but this seemed strange, and obviously by changing the programming for the added onn keypad must have done something.
It would be great if someone had some ideas about this one, I even tried reprogramming my keys, and nothing, checked the hoodpin switch, and nothing.
Any ideas?

Rippen, welcome to the forum. I'm quite technologically challenged so I can't be of much help. I do know with the factory installed remote start if the battery in the FOB is weak strange things start to happen. Just a thought. This will get the post to the top so hopefully someone else can chime in to hel. Good luck.
Yes it is a very strange thing, the tech that was working on it, has never worked on autostarts before, so that's why he wants the other guy to try it. But he did seem to know what he was doing. The strange thing is he says autostart is enabled. And when I look on the dash, I have the autostart options. Now when I didn't have autostart, there were no options on the dash, which leads me to believe that autostart is definatly enabled. So hopefully the other guy that regularly works on the autostarts figures it out. I will post back with whatever happens. Hopefully it will be good news.
Yeah itll show everything is there but with the way they had to do the keypad they have to go back in and tell the computer to allow it to start the truck. Something about tricking the computer or some crap. At least thats how it was explained to me.

Well all is good, went back to the dealership, and the regular autostart guy was there, had it fixed in 3 minutes. He said all he did was remove the autostart option, then added it again, and boom running perfect, and also there was no charge, and the advisor apologized for me having to come back for something so simple. Id like to thank everyone here for the help, and also the step by step instructions on how make the key pad run. There are some awesome people here
