jweidart, when i went to buy my truck, the dealer told me the 6.4 bed wasnt until a mid year 13 models, in 2012 they (Ram)only had the 5.5 when i was buying. But needless to say even if they had the 6.4 the pathetic safety rating was the deciding factor for me and my child. Just amazed more people dont care about safety and buy just on looks. But each person puts there own priority on there purchases.

I went from a 2012 Ram 1500 to a 2013 F-150.
I like them both.
My main reason was that the incentives made the F-150, with 5.0L, significantly less expensive.

I'm in the same boat as well with the Ram v F-150 battle. This will be my second Ford truck if I go that route but have never owned a Ram so all the info is definitely appreciated. I'm leaning towards 5.0 so the gas mileage factor is out. The trucks I'm looking at are identical in price before and after rebates/discounts(both can be found for $10k+ off), so all the little things start coming into light...

Possibly. Still deciding but definitely some good info. I wish there were problems with the Ecoboost. I'm sure I'd like the feel and drive but I'm hesitant to buy a truck with known issues.

I wouldn't be hesitant. I got a 2013 and have zero issues.

im comming from a mopar family, but i purchased a 2012 f150 ecoboost this past summer, when i test drove the 2012 ram and the 2012 ford i loved both, i have nothing bad to say on either, but what made me decide on the ford was the crazy low end power the ecoboost has, it just puts a smile of your face . And the my local dodge dealer was kind of a D**k.

i have 10 000km trouble free with the eco

I love my Ford but when it comes time to do my next purchase in a few years i will reconsider dodge or ford, go with what suits you best and the dealer you prefer.

Planning on hauling anything or towing as well? Payload alone is worth the F150 purchase. I read that the air suspension doesnt increase capability either. I looked at a crew sport1500 and its payload was 1080lbs. My current 150 is 1980lbs, thank you max tow. Take the hitch weight off the payload, add in the family and dog, you ll be lucky to haul anything more than a single can o beer!
