Default F-150 vs. Ram 1500

Hey folks,

I'm in the market for a new truck and have narrowed it down to the Ram 1500 Crew Laramie or Sport 4x4 or a F-150 Lariat 4x4. I'm sure some of you had similar comparisons when you bought. I'm curious what made you decide to go with Ram. Price wise while sticker is nearly identical between the trucks, Ford beats Ram hands down on pricing, to the tune of $4k savings. For instance, the trucks I'm looking at have stickers of roughly $48,500. The Ford I can get for $36,500 whereas the Ram is $40k.

Please let me know what ultimately made you go Ram vs. Ford.

Thanks

I drove a new Ram about am month ago. Ram has really stepped it up in the looks department, the interior and the ride is "better" than they used to be.

My thoughts after driving (cause I was playing with trading in, I just love the look of the new Rams and really liked the interior) was the 5.7 with the DOD was clunky and you could clearly feel it switching on and off. The 5.7 Hemi is gutless off the line compared the eco-boost but did very well in the higher rpms. It didn't ride as nice as my similar wheelbase F150. The seats in the Ram were NOT as comfortable as the Leather seats in my FX4. It had a nice exhaust sound, good stereo sound, and the interior finished are nice in the Ram.

When I dropped the truck back off at the dealer there is no way I could get rid of my current truck for this Ram. I was actually surprised, I thought I would be trading the truck in that day but the Ram just isn't better than the F150 IMO.

Wait.....WTF......this is an F150 site. Crap, I've been on the wrong site for a year and a half. Anyway, I went with Ram because I enjoy mediocre build quality, a motor that requires shutting down cylinders to try and get 20 MPG and rust. I do like what they have done with the back of the F150s but I have yet to see the front of one in my rear view mirror. ; +)

Not trying to be a smart ***, just being honest.....I wouldn't own a dodge or GM if they were half the cost of a Ford. I had a 2004 GMC Seirra and it was Junk. Had 3 dodge rams, 99, 2000, 2001......The 99 was decent truck, when the transmission wasn't slipping...............
My last three trucks have been Fords and I've loved all of them other than my Harley Ford. Nothing wrong with truck, but it just wasn't functional for me.
