Default Emblem Removal

Whats goin on everyone. I am planning on removing my EcoBoost Emblems and put on the 3.5L Twin Turbo Emblems. I've heard to use mono-filament fishing line to get the emblems off but whats the best way to get rid of the adhesive residue that will most certainly be on the truck where they were??? Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat. That will get the adhesive more likely to separate from the truck.

2. Use dental floss. Fishing line can still mess up the paint if you aren't really careful about it. Dental floss never will. Use a two man saw motion back and forth and move across the emblem as close to the paint as you can.

3. Use Goo-Gone or other products you might find at the auto parts store for adhesive removal or bumper sticker removal. Soak it in the product and use a microfiber towel to wipe it away.

4. Buff and polish the area you removed the emblem from to make sure you didn't scratch or cause any paint damage.

5. Use 50/50 water and rubbing alcohol to really clean the area and then apply the new decal or whatever it is you are going to put there.

Done

I use a credit card to remove the emblems, being sure to just "cut" the 2 way tape. Then I heat up the left over tape and roll it off, rubbing alcohol usually removes the rest of the stubborn glue.

WD-40 works wonderfully as an adhesive remover. And TJ has the right of it...you'll be surprised how easily the emblems come off with a little bit of hit and a constant tug on them.

I have an "eraser" wheel. It fits in a drill, and it takes the glue right off without hurting the paint. You can get them at most auto parts store in the body repair section. It helped growing up in the body shops of baton rouge with my dad. Learned all kinds of neat tricks.

Pretty sure he means, "what if that is in the wrong hands." As in, someone who has never used one before.

That's my guess
