Default Electronic Locking Differential...

Recently i have purchased a "new to me" 2011 SCREW 4x4 XLT with the 5.0 engine... while watching some youtube videos i discovered some f150 models come from the factory with and electronic locking diff... unfortunately my truck does NOT have it! this is something that has increasingly become bothersome to me and i was wondering if there is any kind of "kit" or some way to give my truck the electronic locking differential? thank you guys for your help!

Just install a true trac or arb air locker.

Great looking truck. There are wires that plug into the rear end so you may have to swap out the whole unit. My truck has it just have to pull out the 4x4 control **** to activate it. For me i have never used it my 4 wheel drive has always gotten me through what I was in.

Don't bother with this thought!
I don't honestly see myself going on a mud quest and I'm not an hardcore off-roader, yet if someday I'm onto a path where the ground is soft I just wish my tires are good for the job, as the 4x4 is there for a reason.

I spent the whole long winter doing some adventures on very deep snow, icy and slushy gravel roads and never had an occasion where I got stuck and boy did I have lots of fun with the truck!!! Also some "experts" write bad things about the open-dif, but what can I say? Now that I've run my test? Whatever!

So now I see the ELD as a possible need for some rock climbing people (good luck!) and for sure another thing to break that I don't have to worry about.

Wipe away that bothersome off your mind and enjoy your 4x4! I'm sure you will.

i greatly appreciate your positive outlook on this situation! and that is great news that you havent had an issue with getting stuck without the locking diff... i dont see myself going mudding anytime soon... but the truck is still new to me and i do know myself and one day i will be testing the limits in some nasty mud im sure! haha... i am sure the truck will be just fine the way it is setup.
