That's my point, if you tow regularly no way 17, but since your 90% highway then 17 is achievable. I had a 8 hr trip to Erie and ave 19 on that trip and I was ave 70-75mph. 60-65 seems to be the trucks ideal cruise speed fro best fuel economy. Not doubting your trip meter but towing kills any lifetime fuel econ.

I've heard otherwise. Could be wrong though.

For those who doubted me here is a pic of my trip b which I reset on the highway. Speed varied from. 70mph to 55. I tried to keep around 63-65 mpg (speed limit around Chicago is 55 and this was during rush hour with construction). I will be talking a longer trip next week Tuesday so I can get more miles in a trip as more concrete evidence. And this is on winter gas as well.

Looks like your average was 60mph.
My truck is two weeks old and I'll be towing every day in the city when my trailer gets built. I'm guessing I'll get around 10mpg. I have the Ecoboost with max tow package 3.73. I only have 400 miles on the truck so far and pretty much all city driving and haven't towed yet and my avg is 15.5mpg and I'm happy with it.

kend, I got 13 max tow,6.5 bed,, and that's about what I get around town is 15.5 to 16.0 and about 10 to 11 when towing my boat..there no doubt the higher gears don't get the fuel econ the guys with lower gears but its a trade off in the better performance in city driving. I got 10k on my truck.

I'll be picking up my trailer from Colorado in 6 weeks and guessing I'll get about 15mpg on the 1000 drive home. Then it's all city daily towing from then on unless a boat magically appears in my driveway for Christmas I can't wait to tow with this truck, I know it's going to pull like there's nothing behind it. I'm really glad I got the max tow package, can't wait to hook up my 14x8.5 trailer and power extend my mirrors

You should get better fuel econ on highway. I made a 8 hr trip to Erie and got 19mpg on the way up and that was thru mountains and PA highways. The ideal speed is 60-65 to get the numbers as you go faster the mileage comes down I was doing 70-75 on way home and still got 18. But your mountains are bigger than our Appalachians. smart move on the maxtow, your gonna get the most out of the EB with the 3.73 gears and all the upgrades that come with maxtow,,Enjoy!!
