the last few days I have been paying attention to my driving habits and my mpg' meter on the truck (I reset every tank) usually goes up when I am driving in town. yesterday it went from 12.7 to 12.9. got on interstate to come home at 70mph in 12 miles it dropped back down to 12.7.
I would think you should be getting better than that.
Dealer time.

2013, FX4, Screw, 157" wheelbase, 3.73, EcoBoost. 710 miles on the clock, my avg is hovering around 13.4 mpg's right now. From what I can tell this truck gets good mileage on the hwy. About 1 mpg less hwy .vs my previous 5.0, 3.55 truck. But gets about +1 mpg better in town .vs my previous truck.
Its almost impossible to keep out of the boost in town, and in my area where its mostly hilly.

lol yeah they are going to love my face. my 11 I had in about a dozen times trying to get them to fix my steering... they just kept giving me the same answer.
the reason I got the EB was I had it with the old one and could take it anymore. kind of wishing I would have looked at other makes now since this thing is horrible in mpg's.
Sorry for ranting on someone elses thread!! lol

no way a MaxTow gets 17.4 if you tow on a regular basis, my ave was running 17 but tow a boat every weekend and watch the mileage drop to 10-12 depending on hills. There so many factors in someones mileage. Climate, flat/hilly terrain, tow/nontow, fuel octane, performance tune, tire size, driving style and so on. If you get 15 city and 21 highway and 17 combined then your doing what truck advertised. But just remember the little ole lady does the MPG test.
