Default Driver's side blowing cold

Over the weekend I noticed that our 2010 SuperCrew Lariat F150 (with 39K miles) is blowing colder air on the left side while the passenger side is blowing warm air (with both sides set at the same temperature).

The air temp doesn't change regardless if I turn up the temp to the max, the fan just blows harder with no change in air temp.

From my research it looks like it's the blend door actuator.

Fortunately we bought the rig as a CPO earlier this year and I bought a Ford extended warranty so I believe I'm covered as I think this is a pretty big job.

Just curious if others have had this happen, what the repair entails and how long it took to turn the vehicle around.

I've had both side blend door actuators go in my 2009.

The part is about 8 dollars. Passenger side is an hour and a half labor - driver side was about 9 hours labor.

Not happy but it's gotta be done.

Mine went out in my 2010 with 34k on it. Mine was the acuator behind the stereo so I got lucky. Good luck but sounds like you had the other acuator go out.

Mine was blowing cold on the drivers side like yours. It wasn't the blend door actuator, but something more expensive. I am glad I purchased the extended warranty when I bought my truck new. I paid the $100 deductible and the extended warranty covered the rest. Good luck.

You're lucky Ford didn't used to cover the blend door actuator on ANY warranty outside the 3/36. The labor was outrageous to fix a $60 part. One of my previous customers back in the early 90's had the ESP+ and was Pi$$ed when it wasn't covered and he was on the hook for 11 hrs labor to have his T-bird dash ripped out.

Dealer called. It was the driver's side blend door actuator. They said the dash needs to come out.

Hopefully it will be covered under extended warranty.
