Will you be able to do anything since I am over 36000 miles?

This is definitely a reoccurring Ford issue. My 2013 Police Interceptor and two other guys at work had the same issue. I always had to pull the door handle twice to open the door after it was unlocked. I had the dealership replace the exterior handle and lock after they "greased and aligned" it twice before. Replacing it finally fixed it. Demand that they replace the handle and locking mechanism and you should be good to go.

This is a Ford problem in general. It's been widely reported on the Mustang forums as well.

When Ford f***s something up, they make sure they do it across platforms.....hahahahaha.

It's always worth a try, SvtandEcoFX4. If you need my help after your dealership visit, PM me your information and I'll see what I can do. In your message, include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealer.

has anyone had luck getting this fixed. Mine is at the dealer right now and they are saying the usual "cant duplicate". There is a tsb on this, and the dealer said they cant do any repair till it is duplicated.

That's exactly what mine has said, twice. When sitting for a period of time in 90+ degree temps, it does it every time. By the time I drive to the dealer, the cab has cooled down and it doesn't do it.

Get home, let it sit a few hours, it does it. I guess I could just drop it off for a day and let them find out for themselves. I just don't know why they just don't fix it if it's a known problem and there is TSB out on it I'm not making it up, and I surely don't like making multiple trips to the dealer.

Long story long, mine still does it.

if it's like mine then it only does it the first time you open the door after unlocking it. have them lock it with the remote or keypad and then unlock it and try.

mine still does it, been "adjusted" greased and it still does it
I took off the inner panel and tried to see or hear why it does it
everything appears ok, no binding or loose parts...
i even had them do a complete door tear down when we got hit in the left front last feb...
the HEAT seems to be a factor, as it does not do it nearly as much in the cold as it does when its 90 or higher
imo its the module in the door lock, maybe an amperage thing when all four doors unlock,
i am going to reset the fob to require two clicks to open the remaining doors and see if it helps
there is a lot going on when you unlock the doors, mirrors, seats and some weird noise from under the dash

My 2013 drivers door just started doing this recently. Freakish, unlocked the truck with the key fob, pull door handle and it appears to still be locked, pull a second time the door opens. It gets me when I unlock the truck, throw the groceries in the back seat then try to open the drivers door and it won't open. Never had this problem the first 28k miles.

My 13 did this when I bought it last Sept. Dealer replaced the latch under warranty back in Jan. and hasn't done it again since.
