Default Double pull doorhandle to open

Does anyone have to pull the door handle twice to open after its been locked for a while? I have an '11 screw xlt 5.0. The salesman said he thought it might be some kind of safety feature. But all I can think of is it would take it longer to get into to truck if someone was after you.

It should only take one pull. The lock mechanism might be gummed up some how and working slow.

Salesmen?! F.O.S
You might have an exceptionally strong rubber door seal. Should only ever take one pull (maybe one good pull).

I've tried pulling slow, fast, hard and soft ( I know there are some gutter minded people thinking dirty thoughts) and it still takes 2 pulls, and no more than 2 though. I don't live in a bad neighborhood but I do live in Jacksonville fl, and you never know what's going to happen. But that's not why I'm worried, I just got it a month ago and would like this 37k truck to work like it should. I dunno what is going on. So no one else has had this problem?

Nope, mine only takes a normal single pull to open the door. I had a 2000 Audi A6 Avant that took a double pull from the inside when all doors were locked. That never happened from the outside though.

I have a 2011 fx4 and the passenger door does the same thing. On the first pull it feels locked.

Make that 3 of us. About 75% of the time, I go to open it and feels like it is locked. Always opens normally during the second pull. I always assumed it had something to do with the handle recall and was just waiting for a few more thousand miles to take the truck to the dealer and have my 60K scheduled maintenance done at the same time.

I just posted the same problem with the outside door handle not working the first time. Did you get this fixed?

No, that recall is for the interior door handle, and not for 2011 trucks.
